From the branch to the cross.
Every crucifix begins as a branch. Danny offers his labor in prayer for the people who will pray with each one.
About Fishers of Men Creations — how Danny gathers branches and shapes each crucifix by hand.

Gathered branches
Branches are collected — some reclaimed from material that would otherwise become mulch — and cut with a bow saw.

Shaped by hand
A hatchet, mallet and chisels shape each beam. Only hand tools touch the wood.

Fitted and finished
The beams are fitted, stained and sealed, and the INRI inscription is woodburned into the wood.

Corpus mounted
The custom-designed corpus is nailed to the cross by hand, and a sawtooth hanger is installed.

Following St. Joseph toward Christ.
Danny Fisher makes handmade crucifixes, encourages men to live their call, and is developing a film about St. Joseph called The Man Who Fathered Christ. The workshop, the speaking and the film belong to one vocation, shaped by the example of the man entrusted with caring for Jesus and Mary.
